Description:

The CBC (complete blood count) is valuable for all patients. This presentation reviews the components of the CBC and describes their contributions to assessing a veterinary patient’s health status, with evidence from a big data study and clinical case illustrations. Point of care hematology analyzers improve access to this essential health information and present unique benefits, including visual display of the CBC results as dot plots. Patient studies offer practice deconstructing the CBC and interpreting dot plots with the numeric data to advance clinical decisions, from diagnosis to management.
