This lecture provides evidence supporting preventive care diagnostics and the benefits preventive care initiatives offer to every veterinary practice. Consistent preventive care can identify early systemic health problems in animals with no apparent clinical signs, allowing early investigation and appropriate care if needed. We review diagnostics most valuable to preventive care protocols through clinical cases where preventive care testing had a positive impact on patient care and outcome.
